Hi Class,

What a great debate we had on Sunday!  For homework, please read chapters 13, 14, and 15 in "Where the Red Fern Grows."

Also, I want you to prepare a written argument, a continuation of the hunting debate from class. Only this time, you will be arguing the opposite side from the one you took in class.  Alina and Grant, you will be composing an argument against hunting, Priyanka and Lauren, you will be composing an argument for hunting. Remember, because you are at home, you will have the benefit of books and the internet to conduct research, and gather data to support your points. My expectations are as follows:

Your argument must include twenty reasons, or bullet points, explaining why your side is correct

Your argument must include seven instances of researched data, for example, statistics about hunting, or animal rights, or poverty, or the eco system, that you gathered from books, articles, or the internet. (please list the sources of your data on your paper)

Your argument should be neatly written in COMPLETE SENTENCES or typed in COMPLETE SENTENCES. Also, importantly, no emailed assignments will be accepted. You are to bring the homework to class, or you will receive no credit for it, as part of the assignment will be to share the argument with the class.

Thanks!
