First Grade:

On Sunday we read about Owl and Little Beauty and the Gorilla. We talked a lot about feelings. For homework, please draw a picture and write three sentences about a time you felt afraid. Please also read, and bring to class with you, a book about a character who feels afraid.

Second Grade: On Sunday we read Stone Soup and discussed collaboration, which means working together to get something accomplished. We also worked together, or, collaborated, to write our own soup recipe; Creepy Crawly Soup! For homework, those who were in class should finish writing and illustrating the recipe. To do so, you will need to write the instructions for how to prepare the soup, since the ingredient list was finished in class. Those of you who were absent, please write ten sentences about a time you "collaborated" with another person, or group of people. Illustrate your story.
