Hello Students!
We had really wonderful first day! I enjoyed meeting each of you, and I was very impressed with all of your creativity and exuberance.
Here is the book you will need to read for next time. Please note that it has been uploaded in two parts. Print out and read both of them, and please bring them to our next class!
Also, as you are reading, think about the notion of community. What aspects of community can be found in this book? Why is community important according to the author?
Please think of two other examples of community in your own life. Write them down
and be ready to share!
Special Challenge: Can you write a story about one of the communities in your own life? Are there any traditions involved, or rituals? Is there a hero, like the boy in "The Three Questions?" Stories should be a MINIMUM of ten sentences in length.
