This class will tie creative writing to reading comprehension. Students will read a variety of short texts--folktales, fairy tales, and poems--and attempt their own versions of these forms. In class, we will discuss the features of each kind of text to understand both their content and their genre. Students will also share their own writing with the class for critique and revision.
